Team Rhodes Scholars may have appeared optimistic about the future as they emerged for competition with the lovely Brie & Nikki Bella on their arm. But with only one week passing since a huge Divas brawl broke out between The Bella Twins and The Funkadactyls in the back, history was bound to repeat itself.

And when one of The Bellas jumped up on the apron during the contest between Team Rhodes Scholars and Brodus & “Sweet T,” it triggered another melee between the four Divas and their Superstars and ultimately left the match without a clear winner.

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler joined the SmackDown announce team as the blue brand celebrated the first-ever Social Media SmackDown!

Prior to the night’s opening match, Damien Sandow made it clear to the WWE Universe that — unlike “others” — he felt World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio fit in with the rest of America, insulting the champion’s “poor grammar,” “lackluster word choice,” “abhorrent” sentence structure and his friend Ricardo Rodriguez. An amused Del Rio responded by addressing the irony of Sandow speaking about the “unwashed masses,” since he felt his opponent needed to wash his mouth out because it smelled like “caca.”

With Del Rio’s WrestleMania No. 1 contender Jack Swagger and his cohort Zeb Colter watching from the back, an extremely fierce match ensued between the reigning titleholder and The Intellectual Savior of the Masses. And in the end — despite an almost maniacal aggression by his opponent — Del Rio countered Terminus to make Sandow tap out to the Cross Armbreaker.

Before the first SmackDown match of the night could get underway, Damien Sandow declared that he would destroy the WWE Universe’s “false idol” Sheamus and that The Celtic Warrior’s “reign of terror” was at an end.

But when the end of the fierce encounter came to pass, it was the Irish Superstar who would lay the matter to rest, sending “The Intellectual Savior of the Masses” into mental dreamland with the White Noise–Brogue Kick combination.

Damien Sandow has something to say before his match with Daniel Bryan.

He begs everyone’s indulgence for a moment. He introduces himself and he says that he is disgusted at the tragedy that we have just witnessed. He says that his best friend Cody Rhodes should be in the Elimination Chamber match. He is more disgusted that the half wits cheered an albino Irishman as he does poor impressions.

Damien demands SILENCE.

For reasons of good form . . . he stops to thank the fans for their irrelevant opinions (by chanting ‘You Suck’ at Damien). He says that for reasons of good form, he will avenge Cody’s loss by defeating his arch nemesis. Damien calls out ‘Bearded Goat Face’ and he summons thee.

Match Number Two: Daniel Bryan versus Damien Sandow

Bryan with a kick and European uppercuts to Sandow. Sandow with a kick but Bryan with a running knee to the midsection and a kick to the back. Sandow with a kick and punch to Bryan. Bryan with a flying clothesline and then he sets for the running drop kick to the corner and he hits it. Bryan gets a near fall.

Bryan with a head butt. Sandow with a kick to the chest but Bryan sends Sandow through the ropes to the floor. Bryan with a running knee off the apron. Bryan rolls Sandow back into the ring and Kane’s pyro goes off. This can’t be good for Bryan. Sandow with a rollup for a near fall. Bryan with Kicks of No to the chest and then Bryan yells at Kane again.

Kane signals the pyro and it distracts Bryan and Sandow with a shoulder to the midsection followed by Terminus for the three count.

Just one day after Team Rhodes Scholars overcame Rey Myserio & Sin Cara in a WWE Tag Team Champions No. 1 contenders’ Tables Match at WWE TLC, Cody Rhodes defeated Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio bested Sandow on Raw. In an attempt to break that stalemate, Sin Cara would take on Sandow on SuperSmackDown.

But immediately, it became clear something was wrong. For after Sin Cara emerged, Mysterio — expected at ringside to cheer on his teammate — didn’t answer his music. As a result, Sin Cara would have to go it alone, with the devious Rhodes lurking at ringside.

As the match progressed, the confusion suddenly became clear. Members of The Shield began making an unscheduled appearance, walking toward the ring before throwing The Ultimate Underdog’s mask into the squared circle! This shocking revelation distracted Sin Cara, allowing Sandow to seize the moment and overcome the gravity-defying Superstar with Terminus.

The atrocity did not stop there, though. As the smoke cleared, The Shield descended on their prey, attacking the war-torn Sin Cara in vicious fashion.

WINNER: Damien Sandow
